Anti-Aging Dentistry

As you age, your smile ages too, but with advances in anti-aging dentistry, we can help turn back the clock.

Anti-Aging Dentistry is an aesthetic change in the lower third of a patient’s face to improve and reverse the signs of aging through veneers which can address wrinkles, lip fullness and cheek support for a more youthful smile and face as a whole. We specialize in natural-looking veneers that are undetectable.

As you age, your teeth wear down, get shorter and begin to get discolored. Gravity pulls everything down; collagen production decreases, the lips and corners of the mouth turn down, and the skin around the mouth starts to sag. These are all common issues that anti-aging dentistry addresses with an immediate result in just a few appointments.

What we do is work from the inside out to design and restore a youthful smile by placing veneers where it helps support your lips, cheeks and increase volume to the lower third of the face. This removes wrinkles and improves facial aesthetics to reverse the signs of aging without actual surgery.

It’s incredible to see the entire facial transformation that happens with our clients. We work to increase volume and reshape the teeth to what nature intended while balancing the smile and face as a whole. Even though we’re working on the teeth, many patients will see wrinkles fill in throughout their entire face, especially around the lips.

FAQ

We wanted to offer our clients a luxury dental experience that is elevated and different created an office where the design, the feel and how we do dentistry is unique. It’s not a spa, but it’s definitely not a dental office.

The office is a combination of design, art, craftsmanship and fashion all in one place. This is a happy, high energy environment where patients are not coming to us because they are looking for a dentist, they are coming in for the best experience.

Aesthetic dentistry combines both an artistic component along with a comprehensive approach. Facial aesthetic design is about more than just teeth—it’s about all the elements of the face and how they work together to achieve the most beautiful and natural smile.

Every patient has individual facial features; therefore it is of the utmost importance to analyze the face and its entire symmetry before creating smiles. Several elements, including face shape, age, skin tone, lip fullness and shape, lip mobility, tooth display, tooth color, tooth size, are the basic essence of true smile design.

Your smile is not simply a manufactured formula. You can’t expect or desire shiny, white and beautiful teeth without looking at the entire face. We pride ourselves on being perfectionists. We understand and appreciate harmony, balance, anatomy and symmetry. This detailed approach helps us immensely in creating smiles that are incredibly lifelike and complements your natural beauty.

Our approach to dentistry is a holistic one that is focused on beauty and longevity, as well as the overall patient experience. Our mission was to introduce a new type of dentistry to our patients, one that is fun and exciting- because that’s how our patients feel about their smile makeovers! We are dismantling what people think of the dentist and recreating it from the ground up, our way. We like to have fun and that’s our vibe, our energy, and that is also how we train our team. It is a systematic, individualized makeover that is planned out and executed by our experts from the first picture to the last adjustment, as opposed to general dentistry which usually consists of doing patch work over and over again until it’s too late and the patient has to see us to restore them to an ideal smile.

Dr. Pasha: We are trying to wipe out what people think of the dentist and dental visits and recreate it with what we think it should be. We like to have fun and that’s our vibe, our energy, and that is how we train our team. It is a systematic, individualized makeover that is planned out and executed by experts from the first picture to the last adjustment.

Dr. Ben: Our approach is a holistic approach that is focused on beauty and longevity, as opposed to general dentistry which usually consists of doing patch work over and over again until it’s too late and the patient has to see us to restore them to an ideal smile.

A smile makeover includes any combination of dental treatments for aesthetic improvement, but is most commonly obtained through porcelain veneers. By widening and lengthening the teeth, we can improve fullness to the lips and cheeks, eliminate dark corners and wrinkles, and rejuvenate the face by displaying more teeth when you smile resulting in a brighter, younger-looking smile. We can also help you change your teeth shape completely, bringing more balance to the face as a whole. You are an excellent candidate for a smile makeover if you feel self-conscious for any of the following reasons:

• Discoloration
• Worn and/or chipped teeth
• Crooked teeth
• Spaces between teeth
• Missing teeth

From the minute you step into Smile Makers LA, it’s a vibe. Our modern and comfortable environment will instantly relax you while you connect with your personal concierge who will walk you through the entire process, taking time to listen to your needs and goals. The process, to a great extent, is a personal process where personal chemistry and relationships matter and are built.

During your initial meeting with Dr. Ben and Dr. Pasha, we will discuss your concerns and goals. Our team then uses technology to consider every detail in the elements of smile design to determine how to create a smile that best fits your facial features. We will take certain elements, such as your face shape, skin tone, and lip fullness, into consideration when planning your smile makeover. We then take photographs, create models, and do a complete comprehensive examination. With this information we create a personalized treatment plan.

Veneers are made from thin shells of medical-grade ceramic. They immediately transform smiles when they are attached to the front surface of the teeth. The materials they are made from closely resemble the appearance of natural tooth enamel. They can be used for an impressive number of cosmetic corrections. The lifelike appearance of veneers makes them very popular in cosmetic dentistry.

Porcelain veneers are a very successful option in many situations where the original tooth has developed poor color, shape, and contours. It is also a good choice for fractured teeth, gaps between teeth, and in some situations where the tooth position is compromised and there are minor bite-related problems. For some people, superficial stains do not respond well to tooth whitening or bleaching. In these situations, a porcelain veneer may be the best option.

The majority of our cases take two to three weeks to complete with two 4-hour treatment times and two 1-hour appointment times.

First Appointment: During your first appointment, we prepare your teeth for temporary veneers and you will get a set of custom temporary veneers at the end of this appointment (don’t worry, they look just like the permanents). The goal is for you to test drive the new smile and note any changes you would like to make.

Second Appointment: You will have a 1 hour appointment the following day for us to discuss your temporary veneers and make any adjustments needed before finalizing and making your permanent veneers.

Third Appointment: Your third appointment is when we insert your permanent veneers after double checking all the design and function elements and make sure that they are correctly built.

Fourth Appointment: Your last appointment follows your insert day where we get to adjust and fine tune your bite and scan you for a night guard. That’s it!

Yes, by doing your teeth first, we could enhance and improve signs of aging without surgery, such as, lip position, lip and facial fullness, and wrinkle reduction. With the advances in Anti-aging dentistry, we can do some pretty amazing things to reduce the signs of aging without the use of scalpels to bring back years for a younger and more youthful appearance.
Teeth whitening is great for people with nice and healthy teeth that want to make their teeth a few shades lighter. The ones we use in the office are much more powerful and can improve the smile by several shades compared to whitening at home. When it comes to at-home whitening, I recommend our Apa Beauty Whitening for a quick touch up before a big event or a party and also Tri-white which is economical and effective.
Typically those patients need to find the right combination of home care and professional advice on which products work best for them but in general, sensitivity toothpastes have shown good results when it comes to sensitivity. Also many professional whitening systems now offer whitening products for sensitive teeth which usually consists of either a lower concentration of the whitening solution or lower setting and intensity of the light.
